Wrap around Nursery and 30 hours childcare provision

 Nursery Offer Day 2019

Once you have accepted the offer of a Nursery place here at Greswold Primary School, please contact Greswold Greyhounds by phone or email if you would like to discuss your childcare requirements.

Please be assured we are flexible and able to meet your childcare requirements from 7.45-6pm Monday-Friday (Term Time only).

Wrap around nursery (Mini Greyhounds)

Our wrap-around nursery service Mini Greyhounds offers parents with greater flexibility. Based in the Rainbow Room with its own outdoor space, the wrap-around service work closely with Greswold's Nursery staff to ensure a joined-up provision.

Mini Greyhounds offers planned experiences for the children based on the seven areas of learning in the Foundation Key Stage. The staff also try to follow the children's interests to engage them with their learning. The environment is arranged to cover a wide range of activities, using a variety of equipment to provide your child with opportunities to develop competencies, skills and concepts across all areas of learning. Children are active learners and we believe that learning through play is fun and having fun is conductive to successful learning!

30 hours provision

We offer ’30 hours’ here at Greswold Greyhounds. If your child has a place in our school's Nursery they are currently offered a morning or afternoon session.  From September 2019 our School Nursery is continuing to offer the Universal 15 hours with parents being asked to express a preference in either taking the every morning or every afternoon option or the hours can be taken over 2.5 days, either end of the week. This means that you will receive your 15 hours which every family is entitled to.

If you are then entitled to 30 hours’ you can then take the further 15 hours with us at Greswold Greyhounds. The hours are available during the  day between 9.30 am-3.30 pm term time only.  Before and After School care is available as a seamless service at an additional cost. Anything extra on top of your entitlement you can just book and pay for. Please contact us for further details and to discuss your childcare requirements.

How do I know if I am eligible for 30 hours of free childcare?

You can usually get 30 hours free childcare if you (and your partner, if you have one) are:

  • in work - or getting parental leave, sick leave or annual leave
  • each earning at least the National Minimum Wage or Living Wage for 16 hours a week - this is £125.28 if you’re over 25

This earnings limit does not apply if you’re self-employed and started your business less than 12 months ago.

You’re not eligible if:

  • your child does not usually live with you
  • the child is your foster child
  • either you or your partner has a taxable income over £100,000
  • you’re from outside the EEA and your UK residence card says you cannot access public funds

For more details about eligibility or to apply for 30 hours of free childcare, visit the government's Childcare Choices website.

It is your responsibility to come to us with your ‘code’ in order for us to claim the additional hours. If you are unsure about 30 hours and if you may be entitled then please contact us.

Please see the document below which shows how you can use your additional 15 hours with us here at Greswold Greyhounds from September 2019

What if I’m not entitled to 30 hours?

Any child within the 3 to 4 year age range can attend Greswold Greyhounds, subject to places being available. Parents who are not entitled to 30 hours can just book their children in and pay in the usual way. See our prices page for more information.

Rising 3s

For the first time at Greswold Greyhounds we are offering childcare for children the term after their third birthday within Greswold Greyhounds. This will enable parents to claim their 15 hours with us and pay for any additional childcare on top. We have had a lot of interest in this as parents are keen for their children to settle here and then join our school nursery in the following September. Please contact us to book your child’s place.
