Cross Country success

The Greswold sporting season kicks off with notable successes at annual Cross Country event

Greswold took full part in this year's South Solihull Cross Country competition, the first event of a very busy inter-school sports' calendar.

4 teams comprising boys and girls from years' 5 and 6 competed in the large schools event against at least 100 other children in each race.  The mile-long course was situated on the site of Old Silhillians and the competition was very high.

Year 5 boys finished an excellent 4th with Year 6 boys finishing in 7th while year 5 girls placed 8th and year 6 girls placed 10th. All the children represented Greswold with a fantastic attitude and were a credit to both school and their watching families.

Although final standings haven't been released yet, notable successes include Shiv who came 6th in the Year 5 girls' race and Hugo who finished an amazing 2nd in the year 5 boys' race.

Well done to all the children involved whilst credit should also go to the rest of the children in years' 5 and 6 who all helped to prepare the team as the whole of UKS2 were involved in the original trials held at school.
