Year 1 - 6 pupils visit St Helen's Church for their annual Harvest Festival assemblies
This morning, pupils from years’ 1 – 6 visited St Helen’s Church on St Helen’s Road to take part in our annual Harvest Festival assembly. It’s an opportunity for Greswold to partner with their local community to provide our children with an immersive experience within the context of our Collective Worship programme of assemblies.
The morning was organised into two separate assemblies with years’ 1-3 (then years’ 4-6) walking through a very autumnal Coldlands Wood and taking part in a service provided by Chris, Nick and Ben from St Helen’s Church.
The service focused on where our food comes from and the importance of thinking about others who might be in need of our help at this time, emphasised perfectly by the wonderful donations from our school community and Mrs Rochelle’s lovely fresh produce display.
All of the generous donations given to school, by our families, will be donated to local food banks so the children are aware their efforts are helping our local community.
