Today we will be learning how to use prepositions and the directions left and right to describe where an object is. Watch the 'Positional Language Introduction'  and then complete the activity below.

 

Write some sentences to describe the position of the objects in your home. 

  • Table
  • Chair
  • Favourite Toy
  • Fridge
  • Television
  • Sofa
  • Any other objects around your home

 

Use the preposition word mat to help you use a range of prepositions. For example- The bed is to the right of the wardrobe and in front of the chest of drawers. 

 

Geography

In geography this week we are learning about aerial Views. Please read through the presentation and then label each aerial photograph with key features and landmarks that you can see.

Officer G.Bread has now asked us for some help to track down Goldilocks Scott. Use the suspect line up picture of Goldilocks Scott to complete your wanted poster. 

 

Remember Officer G.Bread is a very important person and we want to show him our very best work so don't forget to include amazing adjectives, conjunctions, capital letters for proper nouns and starting sentences and full stops. 

 

Maths

 

Today we will be building on our work on positional language by using it to direct Incy Wincy to her web. Watch the 'Incy Wincy Worksheet Input' and then complete the challenge of your choice. 

Art

 

In this week's Art lesson the children will be learning different pencil techniques used for shading. Watch the video linked below and pause after each skill for the children to have a go independently.

Officer G. Bread was very pleased with your work and he is now working on catching and arresting Goldilocks Scott...apparently she might still be hiding at Greswold!

 

Officer G. Bread would now like you to work on understanding why Goldilocks Scott broke into the three bears house, how it made them feel and think about why Goldilocks ran away. Look at the picture with the speech bubble and write down what you think Goldilocks and the bears might be thinking. 

 

 

Maths

 

Watch the 'Making Turns' video. Choose a start and finish point in your house or garden and write a set of directions using positional language and quarter, half and three quarter turns to get from one point to the other. 

Science

 

In this week's Science lesson we will be recapping animal diets. Watch the 'Carnivores, Herbivores and Omnivores' video and then complete the sorting activity below. If you are unable to print off the resources you can draw your own venn diagram and add sort your own animals.

Guided Reading: 

 

Today we will be reading 'Little Red Reading Hood' written by Lucy Rowland and illustrated by Ben Mantle. Please watch the 'Little Red Reading Hood - Vocabulary' video presentation first, then the 'Little Red Reading Hood- Story' video presentation, and finally the 'Little Red Reading Hood- Activity' video presentation. Today's activity is to complete the 'Emotions graph.' You may wish to have the 'Little Red Reading Hood- PDF' document to hand when completing this activity.

Maths

 

Using your knowledge of positional language and turns complete your chosen level of challenge of the 'pirate paraphernalia' worksheet.

 

If you choose the hot challenge you will need to learn about clockwise and anti-clockwise turns. Watch the video linked below to help you.

Look at the pictures on the Success PDF. How have the children been successful?

 

Draw a picture of yourself and identify things you have been successful at.

 

With a family member discuss how these successes made you feel and how you achieved them.

 

For example- 'I learnt my number bonds to ten by practising every day and using the numicon to help me see the patterns.'
