  • Junior Road Safety Officers

    Mon 20 Oct 2014
Greswold is working with members of Solihull's Road Safety Team to help our pupils stay safe of their journeys to and from school. As part of this project, four pupils from Year 6 have been appointed as Junior Road Safety Officers (JRSO for short). They will be responsible for promoting road safety to the other pupils. Throughout the year, our JRSOs will be giving updates in assemblies, distributing safety information and setting an example of good road safety practice.

The JRSOs have an information board not far from the Upper School Hall, in the Key Stage 2 block. Look out for updates being posted on this board. There will also be competitions later in the year which will promote road safety.
  • Multi-Faith Week

    Fri 17 Oct 2014
Greswold came together to celebrate our first Multi-Faith Week. Each year group found out about a different faith during the week and we were delighted to welcome parents and other members of our community to talk about their religion. During the week each class enjoyed a dance workshop with Mr Kailey who showed the children some Bollywood inspired moves and also shared the story of Diwali. At the end of the week, classes shared what they had been learning in a whole-school assembly. A big thank you to everyone who supported the week and to Mrs Marshall and Mrs Hanlon who organised the activities.
  • Professor McGinty Visits Greswold

    Tue 07 Oct 2014

Greswold's favourite time travelling detective dropped into Years 3 and 5 to share his tales about the past. Year 3 enjoyed hearing about the professor's adventures in Ancient Egypt and got to handle some real artefacts from the civilisation. Year 5 had also dressed up for the day and enjoyed lots of practical learning about Ancient Greece. The children took part in a mini-Olympics, made sandals, created their own armour, trod grapes and tasted some Greek foods. A big thank you to the PTA for funding the day.

  • New Girls' Football Kit

    Thu 02 Oct 2014

Our Girls' Football Team were in action this evening against St. Margaret's School. The girls were sporting the brand new kit that has been paid for by the PTA. The team looked really smart in their team colours and a big thank you must go to the PTA for raising funds to purchase it. After playing really well, the team lost both their games. They will be busy practising at lunch times next week before their forthcoming away match.
