  • Financial Capability Week

    Thu 26 Feb 2015
At Greswold we believe it is important that out pupils learn about how to manage money so they can make sensible and informed decisions when they grow up. Each term we spend a week focusing on financial capability and teaching the children about where money comes from, how money works and what it can be used for. In this term's lessons, our pupils have been learning about a range of topics including how money is earned and the risks associated with taking out a loan. Lessons have included games and role play to bring the learning to life.
  • Year 5 and 6 ChildLine assembly

    Wed 25 Feb 2015
Pupils from Years 5 and 6 were visited by Tracey from ChildLine who talked about a range of sensitive issues. The children met Buddy, the ChildLine mascot, and found about some of the ways children may be harmed by others. They were told about the services ChildLine offers and how important it is to tell a trusted adult about concerns. Next week we will be exploring these issues further with our Year 5 and 6 classes in workshop sessions.

The number for ChildLine is 0800 1111 and their website can be accessed here.
  • Year 4 Brass Blast

    Tue 24 Feb 2015

Our Year 4 pupils have been learning to play a brass instrument since the beginning of the year. This evening they took to the stage at Warwick Arts Centre to perform as part of Solihull's 'Brass Blast' concert. They performed some of the songs they have been practicing over the past few months to an excited crowd of parents and siblings. Well done, children - you were real stars tonight. There are more pictures in the Year 4 Brass Blast Gallery.

  • Our first top attendance award goes to...

    Fri 13 Feb 2015
5W were the first winners of our new attendance award. We have good attendance here at Greswold - but we're always looking to make things even better. To encourage our pupils , each class is now competing to see which has the best attendance in their year group and also which class has the highest attendance in the school. We will see if 5W retain their position at the end of next half term or if another class takes the title.
  • Book Fair

    Thu 05 Feb 2015
Our library at Greswold gets better each year because of the lovely new books in it. Our Book Fair helps to buy books to stock the main library and the classroom libraries. We would really value your support for this year’s Book Fair and we all know that our children will enjoy the books you buy.

Each class will be visiting the library to look at the books and write a short wish list. The books will not be purchased at that time, so they won’t need to bring money with them into school. On the Parents-Teacher Consultation Evenings (Wednesday 11th and Thursday 12th February) you will have the opportunity to buy the books if you wish. Your support for this event will be much appreciated. Thank you.
