  • Celebrating Success, Dreams and Goals

    Fri 17 Feb 2017

In today's house point assembly the focus was on success. Mr Hornsey went through some of the successes Greswold's teams have had this half term - such as our Year 6 maths team coming second at the King Edward's final. Of course achieving success is not always easy and the path to get there is difficult. There are often lots of set backs on the way. Our house captains from Years 2 and 6 shared some of their successes and the steps they took to achieve them.

Also in the assembly Mrs Woodcock celebrated the learning everyone has been doing in their Jigsaw lessons on the theme of 'Dreams and Goals'. Each class brought some of the work they have completed which will go into a special garden-themed display. We look forward now to next half-term's theme of 'Healthy Me'.

  • EAL ambassadors

    Mon 13 Feb 2017

Our EAL* ambassadors introduced themselves in a whole school assembly. These pupils speak a wide variety of languages and will support any pupils who may need help with their English especially at playtime and lunchtime. They will wear special badges and are keen to help. They will undergo training from Mrs Hanlon and Mrs Polanski.

  • Safer Internet Day 2017

    Tue 07 Feb 2017
Today we have been thinking about how to keep safe online. Year 2 have been busy completing research into their own online habits including what type of apps and websites they use. It was also a great chance to use their data handling skills. In Year 6, pupils used the Safer Internet Day website and checked their online safety knowledge by completing the Safer Internet Day quiz. We will continue to post useful websites for parents via our Twitter feed @greswoldschool.
  • Sportshall Athletics

    Thu 02 Feb 2017
Two teams of children from years 5 and 6 today represented Greswold at the Sportshall Athletics competition at Lode Heath School. The teams did fantastically well, with our B team finishing fourth and the A team getting through to the South Solihull finals later this term. Well done!
  • Buddy's Big Workout...

    Thu 02 Feb 2017

Since the NSPCC led assemblies and workshops Greswold about keeping safe, our pupils have been busy taking part in 'Buddy's Big Workout'. Named after Buddy, the charity's mascot, the workout challenge was completed in PE lessons. Our children tried different fitness activities such as circuit training or indoor athletics. Lots of children were also then sponsored for taking part.

A huge thank you to all our families who were able to support the event. Greswold raised a fantastic £2400 which will all go to supporting the important work of the NSPCC.
