  • Year 4 students through to final

    Thu 28 Oct 2021

On Friday 15th October, four students from Year 4 attended King Edwards School to compete in a Maths competition which many schools from across Birmingham and Solihull attend. Their team work was incredible throughout the competition, which was commented on by senior members of staff from other schools. They scored 51/51 on their crossword challenge - something which is a first for Mr Hobday!

The team came second and are now through to the final. Well done to the four students who should be very proud of themselves, and good luck for the final!

  • Hedgehog house

    Fri 22 Oct 2021

Children from Nightingales wanted to provide a warm and safe home for the hedgehogs we have living on our school ground. The group of children looked around for some suitable materials, including bricks and leaves, then created a fantastic home for the prickly creatures. They were very proud of their creation and they hope it will will give a hedgehog or two somewhere safe to hibernate this winter.

  • Greswold House Leaderboard & Value of Belonging House Point Assembly

    Thu 21 Oct 2021

Monday marked the first House Point assembly of the year.  It was a chance to see which children had earned the most house points in each class in Years' 1-6 so far this year, as well as finding out which House was leading the 2021-22 competition at this point.

The assembly itself was about the value of Belonging with an emphasis on how each and every adult who works at Greswold has the same vision, which is to keep the children safe, help them to learn and to make school life enjoyable for each and very child.

  • Greswold Cross Country Success

    Tue 19 Oct 2021

It was wonderful to welcome back the first Inter-School Sports' Compeitition after an absence of nearly two years.  The first event was the Y4, 5 & 6 Cross Country event which took place over the course of a few evenings at Old Silhillians.  Our teams performed incredibly well with some notable individual performances including Enzo in finisging 2nd out of 115 pupils in the year 5 boys' race, Sam coming 7th and Jack 8th in the same race.  In fact the results of the Y5 boys' team meant Greswold finished joint first in that team race.  Dylan came 3rd in the Y4 boys' race (out of 70 runners) and Chloe came 7th in the Y4 girls' race (70 runners).  Well done to all of our pupils who represented the school amazingly well.

  • Year 3 Poetry visit to KES

    Fri 15 Oct 2021

On Thursday, 30 pupils from Y3 attended a poetry performance at King Edwards School. Not only did they thoroughly enjoy the experience but also represented Greswold incredibly well. Staff at KES emailed to say that Greswold children were immaculately behaved and represented the school brilliantly.

Thank you to Mr Hobday, Miss Mobley, Mrs Glover and two parent helpers for attending with the children. .

The Primary School Languages competition, run by Warwick University, was to design a poster to celebrate one of the 120 languages spoken in neighbouring Coventry. Well done to everyone at Greswold who entered and thank you to Mrs Jones for organising.
