  • Stroll and Roll

    Fri 19 Dec 2014
This half term, our classes have been encouraged to walk, scoot or cycle to school as part of Solihull's Stroll and Roll initiative. Each pupil was given a collector card and got to put a sticker on their class' chart after making their way to or from Greswold in an environmentally friendly way. Well done to 1F who completed the challenge first, to 3S who were second and 2H who finished third. Each class received a trophy to look after for the next half term - well done.

    Fri 12 Dec 2014
To encourage our School Bank members to save, each time they made a deposit this term they were given a lottery ticket. Today in assembly the tickets were drawn by members of the banking team. Well done to the winners from Years 3, 4, 5 and 6 who each received a special money box which counts the money put into it. The school bank will reopen for business on Friday 9th January 2015.

    Fri 12 Dec 2014
St. David's House led the last housepoint assembly of 2014. They shared the origins of different Christmas traditions and told the story of the Christmas Mouse. After totalling up all of the housepoints from this last half-term, St. Andrew's got 22 points towards the total, St. David's 23 and the joint winners were St. George's and St. Patrick's with 28 points each. This means that St. Georges edge into first place in the overall competition
  • Christmas Dinner Day

    Wed 10 Dec 2014
It's beginning to look at lot like Christmas... Today our pupils enjoyed their traditional Christmas dinner. The kitchen staff had been busy since early this morning cooking turkey with all the trimmings (including the ever popular sprouts). There was a real festive feel in the hall with Christmas songs, hats and even crackers to pull. Our dinner supervisors had to explain to a few children how the fake mustaches they had found in their crackers were used.
  • Greswold's PTA Christmas Fair

    Sun 07 Dec 2014

Our traditional Christmas Fair was a great success with hundreds of members of our community visiting throughout the day. There was lots to do for young and old alike including tombolas, games, craft stalls and, of course, hot food and drink. For the children there was also a chance to visit Father Christmas. Another highlight was Mrs Jellicoe's Song Squad performing a selection of carols.

A huge thank you to the PTA for organising the event and to everyone who supported by donating items or their time. All the money raised will go towards the children here at Greswold.

Well done to everyone who entered the gingerbread competition. There were some very creative entries - you can see them below.
