  • Borough Sports

    Thu 28 Jun 2018
Greswold's Borough Sports team took part in a selection of track and field events against other local schools. The children from Years 5 and 6 gave it their all in very warm conditions. At the end of two afternoons of competition the team were outside the top three but did a fantastic job of representing Greswold by supporting each other and showing our values. Well done.
  • Year 2 Summer Production

    Thu 28 Jun 2018
Our Year 2 children put on a fantastic performance of 'Animal Rumble Grumble'. The children have been learning about some of the countries of Africa this time and the story featured animals that live on the continent including lions, zebras and monkeys. There is a rumbling in the sky and the animals do not know what do to about it. Only one man can help: the wise Gubari. The children did a great job with the narration, acting, drumming and dancing. What super stars!

  • Year 6 residential visit to France

    Fri 22 Jun 2018
A group of our Year 6 pupils headed across the channel to a camp site near Normandy run by Acorn Adventure. The children had a packed week with adventurous activities including kayaking, rock climbing and high ropes. There was also a poignant visit to the War Cemetry and Arromanches Museum so the children could see first hand the consequences of World War II, the topic they have been studying at school. The group were brilliant and have lots of memories of their time away.
  • Year 2 residential visit to Dunfield House

    Fri 15 Jun 2018
Year 2 enjoyed a fantastic residential visit to Dunfield House in Herefordshire. This year we had two different groups to fit everyone in. We were very lucky with the weather and the children spent lots of time outdoors walking down a stream, making natural art, hunting for minibeasts, climbing on the adventure playground and playing games. They also made sock puppets, went swimming, wrote poetry, danced, sang, sketched and even found time to visit the shop. It's amazing what you can fit into two days! Many thanks to the Greswold team who gave up their time to go on the visit.
  • Author Billy Bob Buttons visits Key Stage 2

    Wed 06 Jun 2018

Key Stage 2 had a wonderfully enjoyable morning in the company of a prize-winning children’s author today. Edward Trayer, writing under the pen-name of Billy Bob Buttons visited Greswold and hosted a literacy workshop with children in Key Stage 2. Year 5 and 6 were privy to some top tips on writing about character and Year 3 and 4 got some great ideas for including similes and metaphors in their work.

The hall was buzzing with excitement and enthusiasm for reading and writing: inspiration and ideas rubbed off plenty on the teachers and we are sure it has on the children too! Thank you Billy Bob Buttons and well done Key Stage 2!

  • Boys football team reach semi-final

    Tue 05 Jun 2018
Our Year 6 boys football team have been playing in the Solihull FA cup against other local schools. The team, trained by Mr Burnham, have been doing really well and reached the semi-final. In a home game against Dorridge, Greswold initially took the lead with a headed goal. In the second half Dorridge took the lead and the game ended 2-1 to Dorridge. A good effort in a hard played match.
