The children also experienced what it was like to be evacuated with a ride on a steam train along the Severn Valley Railway.
  • Year 5 Study Week to the Isle of Wight

    Fri 20 May 2016
Pupils from Year 5 spent a week on the Isle of Wight on a residential visit which mixed learning and fun. After visiting HMS Warrior in Portsmouth to learn about the Victorian Navy, the children then headed to their hotel in Sandown. During the week away the children visited Osborne House to learn about Queen Victoria, Carisbrooke Castle to find out about King Charles I and Alum Bay to see coastal processes at work first hand. There were also visits to Blackgang Chine and Sandown Beach, although the sea was rather cold. The children were brilliant and we hope they enjoyed their time away. You can read a review of the visit written by Anupama in 5C here.

  • Water safety assembly

    Thu 12 May 2016

With warmer weather on the way, it is always temping to take a dip in water. Today we were visited by Solihull swimming instructors who led a special assembly about water safety. Our pupils were told about the importance of keeping safe by water and also what to do if there is an emergency.

There is more information about water safety on the British Swimming website and more information on the RoSPA website.

  • Give and Gain Volunteering

    Fri 06 May 2016

Volunteers from Lex Autolease have been working at Greswold to improve our school grounds. Their time at Greswold included creating an eco-greenhouse from the plastic bottles families have been sending into school. The volunteers worked with children attending Greswold Greyhounds to complete the project and it certainly will be a feature not many other schools have! Many thanks to everyone who took part in the two days.

  • Cheerleading Club

    Tue 03 May 2016

Greswold's new cheer leading club had its first session this morning. Despite starting before school, the children taking part had plenty of energy to put into their routines. The upbeat music also helped. We look forward to seeing the finished routines later in the term.
