  • Easter Egg Competition

    Wed 23 Mar 2016
We are always impressed with the creativity shown by the entries to our Easter egg competition. This year's entries were brilliant as always which a huge range of decorated eggs in different styles. It was a really difficult job to choose the winners for the competition who should be very proud of themselves. Well done to all of the children who decorated an egg (and thanks to parents for their support). You can see the eggcellent entries to the competition below.

    Tue 22 Mar 2016
Many thanks to everyone who donated books for Greswold's second hand book sale. After school day there was an opportunity to buy a nearly new book at a bargain price. At the end of the event nearly £130 had been raised which will go towards buying new books for Greswold's library.

    Mon 21 Mar 2016
Pupils (and staff) from Year 3 came to school dressed as rainforest animals, trees and explorers for a special day of themed activities. After learning about rainforests for this term, today was an enjoyable end point with creative learning tasks including sampling food grown in rainforests, rainforest art and making rainsticks. The costumes were great - well done parents. We hope the children enjoyed the day.

One class also got to ask a scientists questions about their job and the research work they do. We hope the children enjoyed the activities and will be keen to keep learning about science.
  • House Point Assembly - Spring 2

    Fri 18 Mar 2016

This half-term's house point assembly had a scientific focus to link into Greswold's Science Week. The house captains introduced four scientists whose names are similar to our four houses. These were NASA scientist Andrew Abercromby, naturalist David Attenborough, astronomer Patrick Moore and film maker George Lucas who set up Industrial Light and Magic.

All the house points earned over the past few weeks had been counted up and Mr Hornsey revealed that St David's were the most successful house this half-term. They retain their lead at the top of the leader board.

  • Year 5 visit St Alphege

    Mon 14 Mar 2016

It was a lovely Spring morning when Year 5's walked to St Alphege Church. They had visited the church to learn more about the Easter story and spent the morning visiting five stations. At each of the stations they heard a different part of the story from different characters and complete a reflective activity. Many thanks to the team at St Alphege for making us welcome and giving the children an enjoyable morning.

  • Dance festival

    Mon 14 Mar 2016
Members of Greswold's Animated Dance Club put on a fantastic show at the South Solihull Dance Festival. The children had been learning a routine to Queen's 'Don't Stop Me Now' and got to perform the dance at Alderbrook's dance studio. The costumes and lights made the routine look extra special. Well done to all great dancers who took part. Many thanks to Kirsty from Animated Dance who has been teaching the children the choreography ready for the performance.
