  • Year 5 visit to SafeSide

    Tue 28 Apr 2015

Children from Year 5 travelled to SafeSide at EastSide to learn how to keep themselves safe in different situations. The pupils visited a mock village to explore different scenarios including crossing a road correctly, keeping safe by canals, being safe using public transport and fire safety in the home. They learned plenty of useful life skills and even got to try using speed guns to see how fast the traffic was travelling on the road outside. Many thanks to all the volunteers at SafeSide and the parents who accompanied Year 5 on the visit.

  • Year 5 rugby coaching

    Tue 21 Apr 2015
This term children from Year 5 are benefiting from rugby coaching in preparation for a tournament in June. Today our coach George, who also runs the after school club, took the children through some drills and games to develop their skills. We are looking out for a team of boys and girls to take part in the tournament against other local schools. Last year the team did really well so we are looking to repeat the success.
  • Year 4 residential visit to Standon Bowers

    Sun 19 Apr 2015
Adventurous pupils from Year 4 spent the weekend in the Staffordshire countryside at Standon Bowers Outdoor Education Centre. The group had a busy time with lots of activities including bouldering, caving, ropes, kayaking, bridge building and archery. There was also a traditional camp fire when everyone was encouraged to join in. It was great to see the children pushing themselves to try something new. The Standon Bowers staff were also very impressed with how our pupils joined in and encouraged each other. Thanks to all the staff who gave up their weekend to take the group. Lots of pictures are available on the Extranet.
