Today we welcomed back expert dancer Mr Kailey to Greswold. Our children in Nursery loved joining in with a special 'under the sea' themed dance which even featured Nemo and Dory from the popular Pixar movie. You can see the children having a great time in the pictures below.
Today we were pleased to welcome two visitors from Solihull Library Service to our Friday assembly. They had come to Greswold to tell our pupils about the Summer Reading Challenge. This year the challenge is themed around the Guinness Book of Records and children can earn stickers for reading over the summer break. You can find out more about where your child can take part in the challenge at Solihull's libraries on their website.
In February 2015, Solihull Council approved the School Organisation Plan which outlined the need to add additional primary school places due to an increasing birth rate, population growth and housing developments. Greswold Primary School is the Council’s preferred location to meet the demand from parents living in the area and the needs of future housing development. The additional places are needed so that children living in its catchment or, those with brothers and sisters at the school can be offered a place.
More details about the proposals are available on this page.
Children from Year 2 headed to Tudor Grange park in Solihull for a mini-golf tournament. It's another new event for Greswold and the children enjoyed a number of different golfing challenges. The weather was glorious and Mrs Howell was very proud of how sensibly the children took part in the activities. Perhaps the day will have inspired a few children to take up the sport. More pictures are available on the Extranet.
The Summer term is always busy with sporting fixtures. This week it was time for the annual Solihull Borough Sports. Our team from Years 5 and 6 did a great job representing Greswold and taking part in a range of athletic events at Tudor Grange. Well done to the team and good luck for the children who will be competiting on Thursday.
