  • Greswold Maths morning

    A whole morning of Maths! Absolutely!

    Pupils enjoyed a whole morning of Maths by visiting different rooms, working with pupils from other year groups and learning from different staff. Party planning, card tricks and a murder mystery were just some of the topics in Key Stage 2. Who knew Maths could be so useful?

    Three children were awarded certificates for success in the Primary School Mathematics Challenge, including a bronze award winner.
  • Maths workshops for parents

    Greswold hosted two Maths workshops for parents on addition and subtraction. Mrs Johnson, assisted by Mr Hobday, demonstrated how our pupils in Y1-6 learn to add and subtract using practical resources such as straws, baseboards, dienes and place value counters. Parents were also asked to solve problems using reasoning. 
  • Needlework Club

    Mrs Cooper's needlework club have been keeping busy at lunchtimes knitting and sewing. The members of the club have now finished their first creations and they are fantastic. The skills the children have been learning are also very useful for life.
  • Year 4 Maths Quiz

    On Friday, four pupils represented Greswold at King Edward's School in their heat of Year 4 Maths Challenge (Borcherds Shield) open to schools across Birmingham and Solihull. The team put in an exceptional performance in the cross-number puzzle round and the relay round which led to them finishing first overall. They will now represent Greswold in the grand final in July.
  • Year 4 Brass Blast at Warwick Arts Centre

    On Thursday evening, 49 students plus Mr Wilson and Mrs Woodcock performed at Warwick Arts Centre with other local schools as part of Solihull Music Service's Brass Blast. It was an amazing opportunity for so many of our talented pupils to perform at such a wonderful venue. 
  • Girls football competition

    Greswold's girls football team took part in a School Games competition against other local schools. The tournament took place at Lode Heath School and involved both our A and B teams. Both teams played their hearts out and ended up coming 3rd and 4th overall. Well done.
  • Boys football team vs Berkswell

    Greswold's boys football team was in action in a home again against Berskwell. The two teams played really well and showed good sportsmanship. In the end Greswold was victorious, winning the match 4-2. Well done to the team.
  • South Solihull Sportshall Athletics Final

    The exceedingly high standard of competition provided a very tough test for the Greswold team against some of the biggest and most competitive schools in South Solihull.  Every single one of the team were magnificent and represented the Greswold School Community superbly.  They were cheered on by a large supporting parental crowd much larger than any other school which helped to create a wonderful atmosphere.  Thank you to everyone who helped and attended and well done children, we are very proud of you all. 

     

    Final Standings: 1st - Knowle (310 points), 2nd - Greswold (282), 3rd - Monkspath (226), 4th - Shirley Heath (202), 4th - Dorridge (202), 6th - St Alphege (184), 7th - Dickens Heath (170), 8th - Sharman's Cross (166)
