  • Season ends for the boys' football teams

    Thu 10 Mar 2022

Thursday marked the final games of the Boys' 'A' & 'B' team league and friendly fixtures for this academic year.  In total, 20 boys represented Greswold really well in the two very hard fought games against Monkspath (league) and Sharman's Cross (friendly).

The pupils again demonstrated our Greswold values in their teamwork and sportsmanship and were a credit to both the school and their supporting families.  The 'A' team found themselves 3-0 down early in the second half of their league match and managed to pull the game back to 3-2 with a couple of minutes to go, demonstrating their hard work and determination.  They then piled on the pressure to get the equaliser but it was Monkspath who scored the final goal, eventually winning 4-2.

The 'B' team grafted extremely well in their match and found their confidence in the second half.  Even after falling behind to Sharman's Cross, they never gave up and eventually scored to level the game, the final result being 1-1.

Well done to all the players who have represented the school teams this year.  You've really given everything you could.  Thank you.
