  • Join in with the football fun as Greswold celebrates National Schools' Football Week!

    Fri 02 Feb 2024

Starting on Monday 5th February, Greswold will be marking national Schools' Football week with a series of activities across the school.

Year 3 and Year 4 pupils will get the opportunity to take part in lunchtime football coaching, courtesy of the Football Development Scheme.

There will also be a football kit design competition for any child who wishes to enter, with the most creative design from each year group being entered into the national competition.  Below are some slides from a presentation which will help the children with their ideas.  We wonder if parents can also answer some of the questions, some of which are quite hard!  Blame Mr Hornsey for that!

There will also be fun picture quizzes situated around the school for the children to take part in.  We hope your children enjoy the week!

  • Compliment from a member of our community

    Fri 02 Feb 2024

Mrs Scott received an email from a member of our school community complimenting some of our eldest children.

'I wanted to let you know that as I walked home this evening down Buryfield Road I witnessed some lovely independent walking home from school. Obviously I don't know who they were but I was especially proud of 3 boys- 2 of whom were on bikes and one on foot. They were clearly having fun but looked out for each other and crossed the busy road with care and support.'

How lovely to receive such positive news!

  • Another '5 star' performance from the boys' school football team

    Fri 02 Feb 2024

After recording their first win of the league season last week, the boys' school football team repeated the impressive feat of scoring 5 times for a second consecutive match, this time against Monkspath at Solihull Moors.

Thank you to Miss Carpenter and Mrs Woodcock who were on coaching duties and a massive well done to the players who are now playing with such confidence and teamwork.  Their 5-0 win has seen their league position improve and fingers crossed that this winning run is repeated in their next match

on Monday 26th February at Old Silhillians.
