After such a successful year for Greswold competing in athletics, it was inevitable that they would produce yet another impressive performance, this time in Borough Sports'.
Borough Sports' is a day long competition for year 6 pupils where teams of 12 boys and 12 girls compete in three events and aim to attain as many points as possible. For the children who rank inside the top 3 in each discipline at the event, there are extra medals to be won too.
Last year, Greswold's Borough Sports' team achieved their best every performance (against other large schools) with a third place finish. However this year, on the back of a successful Cross Country event back in October and winning the County Finals in Sportshall Athletics in March, the children were very confident.
75m sprint, 600m, Shot Putt, Javelin, Standing Long Jump and Long Jump were the events the children could take part in with a relay to finish.
Over 20 schools competed in total, split into 3 leagues according to their size. After all the points were counted, Greswold finished a fabulous 2nd with only Solihull School ahead of them. Athletes from Greswold also won medals in the following events due to finishing in the top 3!
