Nursery New Starters 

If you have accepted the offer of a Nursery place here at Greswold Primary School, and require additional childcare,

please contact Greswold Greyhounds email greyhounds@greswold.solihull.sch.uk. We also have a direct number for Greyhounds. Our office is staffed between 8.30am and 4.30pm. Please call 0121 703 2800.

We are flexible and able to meet your childcare requirements from 7.45-5.45pm Monday-Friday (Term Time only).

Wrap around nursery (Mini Greyhounds)

Our wrap-around nursery service Mini Greyhounds, offers parents with greater flexibility. Based in the Rainbow Room with its own outdoor space, the wrap-around service works closely with Greswold's Nursery staff to ensure a joined-up provision.

Mini Greyhounds offers planned experiences for the children based on the seven areas of learning in the Foundation Key Stage. The staff also try to follow the children's interests to engage them with their learning. The environment is arranged to cover a wide range of activities, using a variety of equipment to provide your child with opportunities to develop competencies, skills and concepts across all areas of learning. Children are active learners and we believe that learning through play is fun and having fun is conductive to successful learning!

30 hours provision

In addition to your funded 15 hours childcare, Some parents may be entitled to an additional 15 hours totaling 30 hours of funded nursery provision.For more details about eligibility or to apply for 30 hours of free childcare, visit the government's Childcare Choices website.

Should you be eligible for the additional 15 hours entitlement (30 hours), this will be arranged to complement our funded 15 hours Nursery at our onsite Greswold Greyhounds Childcare facility. The hours available are between 9.30am and 3.30pm, term time only. You may also choose to take advantage of our before and after school provision at an additional charge.

If you are eligible you will be issued with a code. Share this code with us in order for us to claim the additional hours. What if I’m not entitled to 30 hours?

Any child within the 3 to 4 year age range can attend Greswold Greyhounds, subject to places being available. Parents who are not entitled to 30 hours can just book their children in and pay in the usual way. See our prices page for more information.

Rising 3s

We can offer childcare for children aged 3 upwards. This may be suitable for children who have been unable to secure a place in our school Nursery or those wanting to play, learn and make friends prior to starting Nursery. All children are eligible for 15 hours of free childcare the term after their 3rd birthday. In certain circumstances children may be eligible for 30 hours. We also offer a chargeable childcare option for any wraparound care, or any child who wishes to start after they have turned 3 and before their free entitlement begins.

Feedback from parents regarding our increasingly popular 'Rising 3's', Greyhounds provision has been extremely positive. Parents have commented on how much more settled the children are with the transition into School Nursery, having been in Greyhounds and becoming familiar with the school environment.
