SENDCo
SENDCo
Greswold Primary School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. The successful applicant will be expected to undertake an enhanced DBS check and provide documentary evidence showing entitlement to work in the UK together with evidence of qualifications.
Greswold Primary School is an ethnically diverse, large primary school near the centre of Solihull. Our vision is to provide a truly inclusive learning environment where every child really does matter.
Our BRICKS values of Belonging, Respect, Independence, Curiosity, Kindness and Success are at the heart of everything we do, and we are seeking to appoint a SENDCo who embodies and demonstrates these values in their daily practice.
We pride ourselves on our highly inclusive approach and our innovative provision for pupils with SEMH, ASD and other complex learning needs, ensuring pupils with SEND are fully included and able to thrive within a mainstream LA primary school.
Governors are seeking to appoint an approachable, compassionate, empathetic and forward‑thinking SENDCo to join our Greswold family. The successful candidate will work alongside our established, full‑time SENDCo, under the direction of the Headteachers and Inclusion Lead/Deputy Headteacher, and as part of a proactive inclusion team.
This role would be particularly well suited to:
An aspiring SENDCo seeking to further develop SEND leadership experience
A teacher with specialist provision experience keen to apply their expertise within a highly inclusive mainstream setting
An experienced SENDCo looking to work within a collaborative team structure
You will contribute to the strategic development and delivery of SEND provision across the school, with a particular focus on Years 4-6, and work closely with our Inclusion Teachers, as well as a skilled team of teachers and learning support assistants.
The role is non‑class based, with an initial 0.3 FTE commitment delivering PPA cover across the school (equivalent to three afternoons per week), providing opportunities to work across all phases while promoting high‑quality inclusive practice.
While this post is advertised as full time, the school is open to exploring a flexible approach to full-time working for the right candidate. Applicants wishing to propose any variation to a full-time working pattern are encouraged to outline this clearly within their application, including how the responsibilities of the role would continue to be met effectively.
The successful applicant will be paid on the Main Pay Scale M1–M6 (£32,916–£42,352). Upper Pay Scale and a TLR allowance will be considered for the right candidate; please note that the school does not recognise pay portability. This post is not suitable for an ECT/NQT.
We warmly welcome prospective applicants to arrange a visit to tour the school and discuss the role further. Please contact the school office on office@greswold.solihull.sch.uk or 0121 705 4738.
