Our before and after school clubs are really popular with parents and children. Our Nursery and Reception children are together in the Rainbow Room. Years 1 to 6 use the Lower School Hall, IT Suite, Studio as well as the playground and field.
Before School Club
Our before school and breakfast club is open to all children from 07:45. All children have the option of having breakfast with us too. There is a choice of cereals available each day including corn flakes, rice crispies, shreddies and weetabix.
When it’s time for the children to go to their classes, they are escorted to their classrooms or the appropriate playground depending upon their age.
After School Club
After school club begins at the end of the school day for the children. This is different depending upon which year group a child is currently in:
Younger children are collected from their classrooms by the Greyhounds team while older children are walked down to us by their teachers. All children are signed in so we know they are safe.
Greswold Greyhounds later closing time from September 2024
From September we are also going to be open until 6pm for after school club. There will be strict supervision of this service in terms of managing any lateness. Although the setting will be open until 6pm, all children are to be collected and off site by 6pm. Please see our late collection policy that is now in place to ensure that this extra opening time is of a benefit to our families but that the 6pm closing time is strictly adhered to at all times.
Snacks
Everyone is offered snack. Here is a list of the typical foods we serve at snack time. If your child has any allergies or children would like something which we currently do not serve please speak to us. Please also ensure all allergies and intolerances are on IPAL and backed up with a email to us at Greyhounds.
Activities
After snack, children have some free play time before being given a choice of ‘mini clubs’ which then run until the end of the session. Activities we include in our clubs are: sports, iPad usage, colouring, arts & crafts, play dough, den building, scooter hockey, painting, junk modelling, quizzes, word searches and board games. We also have access at all times to the outdoor area for children who just want to spend time outside after their day at school.
If any of our children or families have any ideas on activities and clubs they would like us to try at Greyhounds please contact us and where practical we’ll give it a try!
