Champions of South Solihull.....for the 3rd successive year!
Another memorable morning for the Greswold Sportshall Athletics team as they took part in the School Games' Level 2 South Solihull Area Finals at North Solihull Sports' Centre.
After winning their qualifying heat, Greswold were up against the seven best schools in South Solihull with the aim to finish first out of all the large schools to make it through to the County Finals and be crowned South Solihull champions.
Another challenge the children faced was that two members of the team were taken ill meaning teammates had to step into their events at the last minute while keeping to the rules of competitors taking part in only a maximum of four events in total!
The children were magnificent, winning 8 out of 12 sprint events and being crowned champions by a margin of 80 points! A fantastic achievement culminated in the children receiving medals and being invited back to North Solihull to compete in the Level 3 County Finals on 21st March. This time, schools from Warwickshire and Coventry will compete with Greswold and the North Solihull winners.
Roll on the 21st! Thank you to the parents who came along to give their support as well. A real team effort!

1st: Greswold - 340 points
2nd: Knowle - 260 pts
3rd: St Alphege - 222
4th St Patrick's - 202 (Small School Winners)
5th: Dorridge - 192
6th: St Augustine's - 190
7th: Shirley Heath - 167
8th: Bentley Heath - 160
