Greswold win area final to become South Solihull representatives at Solihull, Coventry and Warwickshire County Finals!

Buoyed on by a balcony viewing crowd made up of mostly Greswold parents, the Y5 and 6 Sportshall Athletics team once again proved why the school has such a strong tradition in this annual event.

Up against 4 other large school finalists, the boys and girls represented the school magnificently in performance, attitude and sportsmanship, culminating in a convincing win and passage through to the county finals on the 22nd March, representing south Solihull.

Of the 24 events, Greswold won 14 and came 2nd in another 6, proving just how committed the children were to each other, the team in general and their school as a whole.  Their achievements were also favourably commented on by several of the other teachers in attendance and each and every pupil was a credit to both Greswold and their families.  Well done to everyone involved.

School Games Level 2 South Solihull Area Final results:

1st - Greswold (256 points)

2nd - Knowle (218 pts)

3rd - Dicken's Heath (198 pts)

4th - Dorridge (166 pts)

5th - St Alphege (132 pts)

On a final note, thank you to all the parents who attended as well.  Although spectators weren't  formally permitted in the bleachers, the viewing balcony was still advertised to all schools to be used by parents if they wanted to and, in usual Greswold fashion, our parents turned out in force to cheer on the children.  Thank you so much for your support and encouragement, it really shows just what our whole school community is all about!
