Demonstrating our values at inter-school events in 2025-26

One very important element of Greswold, which helps to make our school such a successful setting, is our commitment to promoting healthy and active life styles and providing children with school sport experiences which help to boost their self-esteem.

As a school, we participate in a large number of inter-school sporting events which include football, basketball, athletics, cross-country, rowing, cricket, rounders, rugby, orienteering and netball, amongst others.  Just this week, school staff were contemplating which additional events we wanted to provide for the children this year.

Most of the events are organised by SGO's (School Games Organisers) and take place at local venues. There are three types of events:

ENGAGE – Non-competitive festivals created to inspire a targeted group of young people who would benefit most from a positive physical activity experience.

DEVELOP - Develop events are for pupils who enjoy friendly competition but do not want to solely focus on winning and losing. Develop events will have a strong emphasis on the School Games values and will primarily focus on supporting the development of physical, personal, emotion and social health.

COMPETE – Compete events are for pupils who are competitive in nature and enjoy performing and competing against others.

If your child is chosen to represent the school at an event this year, South Solihull Schools' Sports' Partnership, based at Lode Heath School, have shared a set of Solihull Event Expectations which are below.  These include competitors (pupils), leaders, teachers & officials and spectators.

When attending events, please could families abide by the expectations as well as demonstrating our own school values at all times.  Results and photos of these events will always be published on Latest News to be celebrated.

Thank you
