Greswold recognised for working in close partnership with our higher education community

Greswold recently received a certificate from Birmingham City University as a thank you for the continued close partnership both establishments have maintained over a number of years.  Being a principal partner means that we regularly accommodate teaching students from BCU for placements, offering experience, guidance, support and mentoring during the challenging journey of becoming a classroom practitioner.

This is just one example of several other partnerships Greswold has in terms of providing aspiring teachers and teaching assistants with the first hand experience they need in working with children and young people.  These partnerships also extend to Warwick University for students undertaking PGCE courses as well as Solihull College where a number of teaching assistant students will fulfil their course requirements with us.

For school and its pupils, it's a perfect additional resource to offer close support and intervention to promote pupil progress, and for the students, they receive the most up-to-date professional assistance and guidance from our staff.

We also host several year 10 and year 11 students from local secondary schools who undertake work experience at various times of the year at Greswold for a taster to see if they might feel teaching is for them, an opportunity many of our current staff will no doubt have had in their formative years too!
