Strong Early Years practice on show in recent local authority visit

Recently, Greswold received a visit from a representative from Solihull local authority who reviewed our Early Years provision in Nursery, Greyhounds and Reception.  The focus of the visit was looking at how the role of the adult supports the voice of the child.

We have now received the report which included the following findings:

  • Adaptations are in place to meet the needs of the whole cohort.
  • There is an obvious focus on language and interactions since last visit: key texts, vocabulary and language.
  • Staff were very conscious of interactions.
  • Interactions outside were also very productive.
  • A slower pedagogy implementation is evident to cater for the needs of the cohort.
  • Where adults were present, children stayed and outcomes were progressive.
  • Observation of adults joining children's play which promotes more natural/better interactions.

Well done to the EYFS team for such a positive report, a true reflection of the hard work that has gone into meeting the ever evolving needs of our youngest children to Greswold.
