Year 3 fully immersed in Roman life!
Year 3 had a wonderful adventure at Lunt Fort.
All children enjoyed taking part in battle drills where they got to train to be Roman soldiers with their very own wooden training swords and shields, and where they learnt different battle formations and tactics. They also got to explore Roman armour, weapons and hear all about life as a Roman from their very own Roman Guides: Nius, Gius and Rufus. Despite the hot weather, all the children (and adults) seemed to have a fantastic time!
The children then followed up their experiences by designing Roman Villas using Minecraft Education focusing, on including columns, domed roof and archways. One pair of year 3'd even included an oculus, a hole in the roof to allow natural light into the villa!
