Year 5 residential visit to the Isle of Wight

Pupils from Year 5 ventured across the Solent to the Isle of Wight to spend a week filled with learning and fun. The children visited Queen Victoria's home, Osborne House, to find out what life was like for the servants and royalty who lived there. They also saw a show at Shanklin Theatre, went on a boat ride to the Needles, enjoyed the rides of Blackgang Chine and investigated Carisbrooke Castle. One of the focuses of the visit was to compare Solihull and Sandown so the children also completed field work during their stay.
