Phonics
To start your phonics session have a go at recapping some phase sounds and tricky words. Choose a different set of digraphs, blends or words to recap each day.
Linked below are the Year 1 and 2 common exception words. Your child should be able to read and spell the Year 1 common exception words by the end of Year 1. If your child is confident with reading and spelling the Year 1 common exception words try learning to read and spell the Year 2 common exception words.
Today we will be recapping the long 'e' sound, such as the digraphs 'ee', 'ea', 'e-e' and 'ey'. Watch the pre-recorded video here and sort the long 'e' words into the correct column.
This week we will be focusing on the grapheme 'y'. Today, we will be learning about how the 'y' can make the long 'e' sound.
Your activity today is to collect all the words on your player card by taking it in turns to roll the dice and land on the real or alien words. If you land on a picture or alien word that represents one of your words, tick it off your list. The first person to cross all of their words off wins. If you do not have a printer, write the words down on two pieces of paper and cross the words off when you land on them.

Today you will continue to use the prefix 'un'. Have a go at the activities on the pre-recorded video and then complete the 'un' word search and write your own 'un' sentences. You can make your sentences more interesting by adding adjectives to describe and conjunctions to extend them!

This week we will be focusing on the grapheme 'y'. Today, we will be learning about how the 'y' can make the long 'i' sound. Have a go at sorting the words with the 'y' grapheme into words with the long 'e' sound, and words with the long 'i' sound.
Your activity today is to play a game of bingo. Choose any 6 words and write them down on a piece of paper. Ask an adult to read out the bingo words and when you hear a word that you have on your list, cross it out. When all of your words are crossed out, shout Bingo!

Today is the return of Fluency Fact Friday! This week we learning number facts when adding 1. Remember, the aim is to learn these number facts off by heart, so that you are able to recall them speedily. Have a go at recalling the answers to the number facts in the pre- recorded video. Then play a game fluency fact bingo to practice your fluency facts when adding 0 and when adding 1.
PSHE
We are still learning about how to stay healthy in PSHE. Watch the pre-recorded lesson here to find out how we can stay healthy. Then think about the healthy choices that you make every day, and label the picture with your ideas. If you are unable to print the worksheet below, you can draw or stick a picture of yourself on a piece of paper and label it with your ideas, or you can just write your ideas of how you keep healthy down!
