Reading at home guidance - Key Stage 2

There are lots of suggestions online for how to keep your child reading at home during school closures. We’ve tried to list some of them here.

Accelerated Reader

To access your child’s Accelerated Reader account from home, please click on the logo on the Quick Links page of the website. Your child should know their user name and password. Please contact the school office via email (office@greswold.solihull.sch.uk) if you experience problems logging on and a member of staff will be in touch to help you.

If you would like to check if books you have at home have Accelerated Reader quizzes, please use their AR Bookfinder website.

Further guidance and information about using Accelerated Reader at home can be found here.

Renaissance MyOn

Renaissance have enabled free access to their new ‘MyOn’ package for the duration of the school closures. It’s an e-books platform with lots of variety of non-fiction texts to support reading for pleasure or research. Click on this link to browse the selection available. There is also a current news section and some of the articles have attached comprehension questions.

Amazon Audible

A selection of audio books can be found on Audible's website here

BookTrust

Looking for something fun as a family? Children’s Laureate, Cressida Cowell has launched BookTrust Home Time. There are
story-times, free online books and videos, book-themed quizzes and illustration tutorials.
