Pupils' names were drawn out in our Reading Rewards Assembly on Tuesday and children were invited to bring a guest to the Charlie and the Chocolate Factory themed Library Reward Time during lunchtime today.  Next term's challenge to raise our game to 85% average percent correct for Accelerated Reader comprehension scores.  The children had a lovely time and we are very proud of them all!

  • Greswold's Advent Calendar

    Mon 02 Dec 2019

Last week the children were busy with their Winter-themed writing project and today Miss Nock revealed its purpose. The piece of writing that each class produced has been hidden behind a different door of a special Greswold advent calendar. The doors, which feature fantastic art by Year 6, will be removed each day in the run up to the end of term. So parents can enjoy the calendar we have put the pictures on the website and will be uploading the writing as each door is opening. It is great to think that all of the pupils in school have contributed to this advent calendar - a brilliant way to show our value of belonging.

  • PTA Christmas Decoration Competition

    Mon 02 Dec 2019
Well done to all the children of Greswold who entered our annual PTA Christmas Decoration competition.  It was incredibly difficult to judge just one winner from each class as the standard was again so high this year.  Nevertheless, the winners' creations can be viewed below with all entrees being used to decorate the wonderful Christmas trees in the lower and upper school halls, just in time for our Christmas Fayre.  As usual, thank you to all Greswold families for your continued support
  • Year 2 visit to St Alphege Church

    Fri 29 Nov 2019
Pupils from Year 2 were invited to visit St Alphege Church in Solihull to find out about the Christmas story. After a brisk walk, the children were welcomed by Linda and her team. They then visited different stations around the church to listen to the story from the point of view of the shepherds and inn keeper before making a special Christmas bookmark. The highlight for many of the children was meeting a real baby taking on the role of Jesus. Many thanks to everyone at St Alphege for making us feel so welcome.
  • School Football League update

    Thu 28 Nov 2019
A really positive start to the South Solihull Large Schools' Football League season culminated in an impressive 3-0 victory for the school football team against Our Lady of the Wayside in blustery, wet conditions on Thursday evening at Old Silhillians.  The victory means the team have won 3 of their first 4 matches and are on course to compete for one of the semi-final spots.  Previous results: Greswold 3 Knowle 1, Greswold 3 Ulverley 2 and Greswold 0 Monkspath 2.  Congratulations to all the players involved over the two rounds of games so far.
