• Walk to School Week is coming!

  The week beginning 18th May, which conveniently coincides with our Sports' Days, is national Walk to School Week. 

   

  This is a really good opportunity to promote all of the benefits, personally, socially and environmentally of walking, scooting or cycling to school. 

   

  Our main ambition, like last year, is to promote the use of the Travel Tracker and rapidly improve on the 19% whole school engagement from March 2026.  Every child in school will have the chance to showcase their art skills and creativity by designing a piece of bunting to promote the week too.  

   

  Surely, we can pass 50% for the week itself if we all work together! 

  

• Greswold assemblies celebrate 100 years of Sir David Attenborough

  This morning in our Key Stage assemblies, Mr Hornsey and Mrs Woodcock used Picture News to celebrate the 100th birthday of Sir David Attenborough.  

   

  The children will learn about the naturalist in their class assemblies this week but were treated to a short clip of a very famous 1978 filiming of Sir David and some gorillas in Rwanda, Africa.

   

  This week's Picture News, as with all previous ones, are saved on our website under Children on our Home Learning page.

• The weather favours Greswold's fabulous Open Afternoon

  Thank you to all the families who joined us on Friday for another fabulous Open Afternoon.

   

  It was so lovely to see the children sharing their books and learning with their family members literally all over the school, both inside and out. 

   

  We hope all families enjoyed their visit and, just for the occasion, we even ordered good weather too! 

  

• Tamil is May's Language of the Month

  Tamil, a language spoken in India, Sri Lanka and Singapore, amongst other countries, is also spoken by 17 current Greswold pupils.
