This week we will be learning:
Maths - This week the children will be writing numbers to a million in words then investigating the relationship between the place value columns. English - We will be using the 'Rain Player' as a stimulus for this week's English and writing a short description using similes and metaphors. Science - The first topic of the year in science will be Forces. The children will investigate the force of friction in a practical way. Art - Following on from their designs from the previous week, one class will start to create their mask while the other two explore how shading can be used in sketching. Computing - The focus for computing this term will involve exploring how to stay safe online. This week the children will look at how to identify online bullying and what to do if they experience it. Humanities - The children will be exploring the beliefs of the ancient Maya by researching their gods and godesses. Music - Linking to their Spanish learning, the children will explore the usage of instruments in creating Spanish style music. PSD - This week, we will be learning about the UN rights of the child. Indoor PE - The children will be focusing on stance and footwork skills, using these to play a game involving beanbags. Outdoor PE - This week, the children (depending on their class) will begin learning about football or netball. RE - As part of their first RE unit, the children will consider how own worldviews affect what they think, feel, say and do. Spanish - The children will learn about Spanish greetings and how to ask how someone is. |
