  • Harvest Donations

    Thank you to members of the PTA who gave up their time to sort the generous harvest donations into boxes for The Hermitage and bags for Helping Hands charity. They also created a harvest display at St Helen's Church for our Harvest Festival.
  • Borough Cross Country

    A team from Years 5 and 6 took part in the School Games cross country event at Old Sils. The children did a great job representing Greswold running around the mile-long course. A team member came third in the girls' competition and another came fourth in the boys' race. Well done.
  • Year 2 - Multi-skills competition

    Mrs Chrysostomou from Lode Heath School organised a multi-skills competition for our Year 2 children. The event was led by pupils from Year 6 who have been training to be sports leaders. It was great to see our oldest pupils taking on this responsibility and encouraging Year 2 to do their best.
  • Greswold is awarded a Silver School Games Mark

    Greswold has been recognised for the way we encourage sport and physical activity for our pupils with a national award. The School Games Mark celebrates our participation in a whole range of activities including competitions within Greswold and with other schools. Miss Sumner has been working very hard to find new opportunities for our pupils to enjoy and key to Greswold winning this award. Well done. We look forward to another busy year of sport ahead.
  • The Summer Reading Challenge

    Over the summer lots of our pupils took part in 'The Big Friendly Read'. This annual reading challenge, which this year had been named after Roald Dahl's popular giant, encouraged children to continue reading over the holidays. A representative from Solihull's Library Service visited Greswold to present medals to the children who had completed the challenge. In total 69 medals were presented - a great effort.
  • Play leader training

    To make play times even better for our pupils, children in Year 5 are receiving training to enable them to be play leaders. They will be responsible for leading games at lunchtimes for other children to enjoy.
  • Professor McGinty visits Years 4 and 5

    Our favourite time traveller Professor McGinty visited Greswold to talk to Year 5 about Ancient Greece and share his tales of Vikings with Year 4. The children loved listening to the stories and handling the artefacts the Professor had brought with him. Many thanks to the PTA for funding the visit.
  • Scootability

    Pupils in Year 2, 3 and 4 have been taking part in Scootability training this week. The sessions taught the children how to use their scooters safely near roads and also encouraged them to have fun. Thanks to the trainers from Sustrans who delivered the sessions.
  • Year 2 learn to code

    Pupils in Year 2 have been learning the basics of coding using the Kodable app. They have put putting instructions into order to get their kodable characters through a selection of mazes. As they have progressed they have learnt how to use 'if...do...' commands and loops to make their coding more efficient.
  • Year 5 - Languages day at Lode Heath

    Miss Nock took a group of pupils from Year 5 to Lode Heath Secondary School for a morning of language activities. The children enjoyed learning about the Welsh language - including finding out the longest place name in Wales (Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch). At the end of the morning they took to the stage to show off what they had learnt to the other primary schools taking part. Many thanks to the staff at Lode Heath for inviting us.
