  • Picking apples

    Wed 19 Sep 2018

The apples on the Key Stage 1 playground are ripening in the Autumn sunshine. Children from Rabbits could tick off one of the '50 things to do before you're 11 3/4' after they picked their own apples for their break time snack. The apples were washed before eating and tasted that little bit extra special being fresh from the tree.

You can find out more about the National Trust's 50 things to do before you're 11 3/4 on their website.

On Friday 21st September, children in Y1-6 will join together to celebrate 60 years of Greswold. A day of special activities on the theme of 1958 has been organised and children are already learning songs released in 1958 to perform in an assembly. Please ask you children about our special anniversary celebrations and check back into the website after Friday to see photos.

Please note: children should wear school uniform to school on Friday. It is not a non-uniform day.

It was great to welcome so many parents to our ‘meet the teacher’ evenings this week. Thank you to everyone who came along to to find out about what is new at Greswold this year. Your support is much appreciated and helps make our school such a special place.

Mrs Scott’s presentations are available in the A Parents Guide to... section of the website.

  • Key Stage 1 painting

    Wed 05 Sep 2018
In a busy summer break, the Key Stage 1 corridor has been given a fresh coat of paint and is now looking far more cheerful. The dull old blue has now been replaced with a summery yellow which really brightens the area up. We think it really looks smart and should give the children a smile - especially as the nights get darker!
  • Upper school toilet refurbishment

    Wed 05 Sep 2018
Over the summer holidays the toilets nearest to Year 6 have been refurbished. Mr Gooch and his team worked incredibly hard to rip out the dated old cubicles and completely update the facilities. The end result is fantastic and they look so much more modern. We hope the children appreciate the effort that has gone into the refurbishment.
  • Welcome back!

    Tue 04 Sep 2018
Welcome to another year of learning at Greswold Primary School. This morning, Mrs Scott led a special assembly to start the new academic year. The children were reminded of our BRICKS values and set our our expectations. Everyone also sang 'Back in School Again' - a fitting song for the first day back. You can hear the children singing in the Musical Performances section of the website
  • Staff training - September 2018

    Mon 03 Sep 2018
Our September Inset day was busy with lots of important training and meetings for the Greswold staff. We were busy preparing for the academic year ahead and learning about the school's priorities for the new term. One of the focuses we will be having over the next 12 months is developing the skills for children to be 'life ready'. This initiative focuses on developing key skills which are important not only for school but life in general. Primary and secondary schools in Solihull are developing plans and working together to make sure our pupils leave with the tools to be successful in their future. You can find out more about Life Ready Solihull on their website
  • Greswold Greyhounds have fun with Kevin's Community Circus

    Mon 03 Sep 2018
With the main school closed due to staff training, the children attending Greswold Greyhound's playscheme had a great time learning circus skills with Kevin's Community Circus. Kevin brought lots of special equipment to school for the children to have a go with. There was a tightrope, stilts and a selection of interesting bikes to try to ride! By the end of the day we had a few budding circus performers. A great day.
  • Year 6 Leavers' Assembly

    Tue 24 Jul 2018

Our class of 2018 said goodbye to Greswold with a special assembly that looked back on their time at school. There were memories, poems and musical performances for parents to enjoy. We were also delighted to welcome Solihull's mayor Councillor Nash to the assembly. Mrs Nash helped to present the yearbooks to Year 6 - a great reminder of their time at Greswold.

We wish our Year 6 pupils every success for the future and hope they enjoy starting their new schools in September.

Parents might like to watch the assembly again on our brand new Video area of the website. There is also an archive of thousands of photographs that are available until the end of August. You will need to use your child's Greswold email to log in e.g. if their name is Joe Bloggs it would be 25jbloggs@greswold.solihull.sch.uk. The first bit of the email is your child's network user name for the school network so it might be, for example, 25jbloggs1 if someone else has a similar name. The password is the password they use to log on in school. Photographs can be downloaded for personal use only. They should not be reposted elsewhere on social media.
