  • PTA Christmas Fayre

    Wed 13 Dec 2017
Greswold was busy this Saturday with the PTA's Chrismas Fayre. There was lots to enjoy including lots of games, delicious food, stalls, the raffle and of course Father Christmas in his grotto. A huge thank you to the PTA for organising the event and to all of our families who supported. All of the money raised goes straight back to the children here at Greswold to support their learning.
  • Snow update - Greswold open on Wednesday 13/12/17

    Tue 12 Dec 2017
    Dear Parents and Carers,

Greswold Primary School, including Greswold Greyhounds, will be open on Wednesday 13th December as usual. The site team have endeavoured to clear paths to all entrances to enable safe access for pupils, staff and visitors. The car park remains problematic for staff so I must insist that parents do not use the car park for any reason for the remainder of the week.

The catering team will be able to provide a choice of hot or cold lunch options on Wednesday but the Christmas lunch will be postponed due to delivery issues of necessary food.

The pavements outside school are also problematic so please do take time and care to get to the school safely. We will delay closing the registers until 9.15 but parents should aim, where possible, for children to arrive on time. Our office and staff teams will have many tasks to complete on Wednesday morning so please only come to the school office for queries if absolutely necessary. If your child will be absent from school due to illness please follow the usual procedures and inform the office team by phone by 9:30.

Children should wear Greswold uniform including school shoes while in the buildings on Wednesday but should obviously dress appropriately for the journeys to and from school. It is extremely helpful if all winter clothing, accessories and footwear is labelled.

I thank all parents for their support and patience during these challenging weather conditions. If any conditions change overnight, I will review this decision in light of safeguarding and safety priorities and communicate accordingly but I am expecting that school will be open.

I look forward to seeing all children and staff in school on Wednesday. Above all, stay safe.

    Yours faithfully

    Karen Scott

  • Snow update - Greswold closed on Monday 11/12/17

    Sun 10 Dec 2017
Given the Met Office Amber Weather Warning, police advice to minimise travel, the likelihood of treacherous roads and the possibility of not being able to provide an adequate level of staffing for our children’s safety, it is with much regret that the decision has been made to close Greswold and the other schools nearby on Monday 11th December. We will continue to update you with regard to Tuesday.

  • Year 4 Roald Dahl Day

    Thu 07 Dec 2017
Pupils in Year 4 enjoyed a phizz-whizzing day all themed around the author Roald Dahl. The children, who have been learning about Roald Dahl and reading his stories this half term, had a day of themed activities. They also got to dress up as characters from the books and looked fantastic. Well done, parents.
  • Basketball League Round 1

    Thu 07 Dec 2017
Two basketball teams represented Greswold in the Thursday evening league. Each team played 5 games with Team 1 winning 3 out of their 5 games and Team 2 winning all 5 games. Excellent defending, scoring and teamwork were evident. Well done all. The next league games are in the new year.

  • O Christmas Tree(s)

    Fri 01 Dec 2017
It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas at Greswold. The trees are now up and decorated with the brilliant decorations the children have been making for the PTA competition. The staff all agree that they look fantastic. Parents can see the finished trees at the upcoming PTA Christmas Fayre.
  • Year 5 Ancient Greek Day

    Fri 01 Dec 2017
Pupils from Year 5 stepped back in time to Ancient Greece for a special day of learning. Children (and staff) dressed up in suitable costumes and looked fantastic - well done parents. There was lots to do during the day and the children enjoyed tasting Greek food and making Greek temples. The children even got to try some Greek dancing!
