  • Greswold supports Children in Need

    Fri 17 Nov 2017
To support this year's Children in Need appeal, pupils were allowed to come into school in their own clothes. The theme was 'show your spots' and some children had really gone to town covering themselves in multi-coloured spots. Greswold's School Council and the PTA had also organised a cake sale at the end of the day which was very well attended. Many thanks parents for supporting the event. All of the money raised will be donated to the Children in Need charity.

Other staff and parents supported by donating prizes and helping with the raffle. Tickets were sold during the parent-teacher consultations and it is fantastic to reveal that the amount raised is £1140.50 - a brilliant result. Many thanks to everyone who supported the fundraising.
  • Harvest Festival

    Thu 19 Oct 2017

Greswold came together to celebrate our annual harvest festival at St. Helen's Church. While it was a bit wet for the walk, it was lovely to see our older children looking after younger pupils on the journey through the woods. Each year group had learned a song to perform and there were also some communal numbers including 'Big Red Combine Harvester'. Reverend Helen encouraged our pupils to reflect upon where their food comes from and to be thankful. Many thanks to everyone at St. Helen's for making us feel so welcome.

We must also say a huge thank you to everyone who sent in donations for the harvest festival. Items received were distributed to residents at the Hermitage and to the charity Helping Hands. The PTA also gave invaluable assistance in organising the items ready for collection.

The children got to try a range of different percussion instruments and managed created a shared performance with everyone joining in. A great afternoon all round (though the Office did think it was a bit loud!) Thanks to Solihull Music Service for the sessions.
  • Red sky at... day?

    Mon 16 Oct 2017
Our pupils were displaying lots of curiosity about the sky today as it turned a strange red colour. There were lots of questions in class about the phenomena, which was caused by Saharan dust dragged to the UK by the remnants of Hurricane Orphelia. It certainly made the playground look very different for the morning!
