  • Accelerated Reader Master Class

    Congratulations to 3S for becoming the first class ever at Greswold to achieve Master Class status for Accelerated Reader. The award is given to classes for exceeding the excellence standards which includes every child being actively engaged and reading for an average of 25 minutes each day plus achieving 90% or above on their quizzes. Each child received a badge to wear with pride. This is an impressive achievement for 3S, Miss Sumner, Mrs Ensor and Mrs Faulkner.
  • Year 4 Standon Bowers residential visit

    Pupils from Year 4 spent the weekend outside at Standon Bowers Outdoor Education Centre. The children completed different activities including bouldering, archery, caving and bridge building. The Standon Bowers staff were impressed with the way our pupils gave everything a go and supported each other. Well done to the children and thank you to our staff and the Entrust staff who made the visit happen.

    A whole morning of Maths! Absolutely!

    Pupils enjoyed a whole morning of Maths by visiting different rooms, working with pupils from other year groups and learning from different staff. Party planning, card tricks and a murder mystery were just some of the topics in Key Stage 2. Who knew Maths could be so useful?

    Three children were awarded certificates for success in the Primary School Mathematics Challenge, including a bronze award winner.
  • Maths workshops for parents

    Greswold hosted two Maths workshops for parents on addition and subtraction. Mrs Johnson, assisted by Mr Hobday, demonstrated how our pupils in Y1-6 learn to add and subtract using practical resources such as straws, baseboards, dienes and place value counters. Parents were also asked to solve problems using reasoning. 
  • Needlework Club

    Mrs Cooper's needlework club have been keeping busy at lunchtimes knitting and sewing. The members of the club have now finished their first creations and they are fantastic. The skills the children have been learning are also very useful for life.
  • Year 4 Maths Quiz

    On Friday, four pupils represented Greswold at King Edward's School in their heat of Year 4 Maths Challenge (Borcherds Shield) open to schools across Birmingham and Solihull. The team put in an exceptional performance in the cross-number puzzle round and the relay round which led to them finishing first overall. They will now represent Greswold in the grand final in July.
  • Year 4 Brass Blast at Warwick Arts Centre

    On Thursday evening, 49 students plus Mr Wilson and Mrs Woodcock performed at Warwick Arts Centre with other local schools as part of Solihull Music Service's Brass Blast. It was an amazing opportunity for so many of our talented pupils to perform at such a wonderful venue.
