Keep up to date with all the latest news happening in school at the moment.
Each year, the Down Syndrome International network works together to speak up and take action for the human rights of all people with Down syndrome.
Their events include the World Down Syndrome Day Conference at the United Nations in New York and activities at the United Nations in Geneva.
These events give self-advocates the chance to share their expert experience with key decision makers on a global stage.
We encourage you to connect with the Down Syndrome community in our part of the world and learn how you can support local action.

This week, children from year 5 have enjoyed being visited by Solihull's Sustainable Travel team. Each class received a presentation and workshop on air pollution entitled 'New Roads'.
The workshop and some of the startling statistics shown helped the children to understand the need for us all to be aware of what causes air pollution and what each of us can do to reduce it.
On Wednesday 18th March, our three winning pupils from Greswold's Science Fayre got to attend Solihull’s Science Fayre at Tudor Grange Academy as part of their winning entry. During the event, the pupils were required to present their project and investigation to volunteers from National Grid.
They responded to a series of questions about their work, after which the National Grid representatives selected the winning entries from 11 different schools.
Throughout the morning, the pupils also took part in a range of enrichment activities led by sixth‑form students. These included using microscopes, constructing slingshots, and exploring a variety of science equipment typically used in secondary school laboratories.
Maahi, Lev, and Rohan conducted themselves as exemplary role models and represented the school to an excellent standard; I could not have been prouder of them all.

As part of our dynamic curriculum offer here at Greswold, we regularly expose children to a variety of notable individuals who have shown expertise in a particular field.
For example, this week in Design and Technology lessons in year 6, we are introducing and exploring a range of different designers and innovators across the areas of construction, electronics, textiles and food.
Our Year 6 pupils are currently adapting a recipe to make it healthier and using four chefs as influences, all known for their impact on Italian cuisine in the UK: Antonia Carluccio, Genaro Contaldo, Jamie Oliver and Angela Hartnett. The children have used a variety of sources to find out more about them and then presented their findings.
Another great example of real-life learning and cultural capital at Greswold.
Well done to year 2 pupils and staff for two fabulous performances of 'Animal Rumble Grumble' this week. The children had only been rehearsing for a few weeks so to be able to learn their lines, songs, actions and timing was very impressive indeed.
We hope families enjoyed it.
Eid Mubarak to our Greswold families and we hope you have a wonderful time.
In the run up to Eid, children have been designing Ramadan bunting, currently on display in the long corridor, to show what good deeds they have been doing over the last month.
This morning, families were treated to yet another impressive drumming concert, this time from year 3 Wrens. The children had been learning how to play African drums during this term and the concert was a culmination of all of their hard work. Well done children, you were fabulous.
As part of our bid to ensure children are literate in many forms, Year 6 pupils have been using their class text, 'Pig Heart Boy' as a stimulus for speech writing. Through taking on the role of Cam (the main character), the children have been writing a speech to persuade people to consider organ transplantation from animals to humans. In our English lesson today, the children have explicitly learnt how to present well using intonation and expression without including irrelevant detail such as filler words.
Below is a selection of photographs from Willows who presented both in small groups and as a whole class.
The Science projects which were exhibited in the junior hall last week were absolutely fabulous. Thank you so much for everyone who contributed to such a wonderful exhibition. After a great deal of deliberation, Mrs Foster eventually picked a winner from each year group with the Y2, Y4 and Y6 winners accompanying her to a special Science event at Tudor Grange School this week.
Winners:
Y1 - Oscar
Y2 - Maahi
Y3 - Poppy
Y4 - Lev
Y5 - Fatima
Y6- Rohan
Greswold's Eco Council took part in 'The Great British Spring Clean' this morning by litter picking along Buryfield Road and in Coldlands Wood. They worked really hard as a team to collect 3 bags of litter.
Most of the litter we found was actually outside the front of school, near the vehicle and pedestrian entrances, therefore we'd like to remind all parents and children to be careful not to drop litter on the way to and from school.
We would also like to encourage families to get involved with community litter picking around Solihull and take part in 'The Great British Spring Clean', which continues until the 29th March. More information can be found on the following websites:
