  • A perfect start to the Greswold PTA's event calendar.....a community event to remember!

    Fri 29 Sep 2023

Thank you to all the families who attended another very successful PTA Social event on Friday.  This was a chance for families, especially families new to school, to see how very special our Greswold PTA are.

As well as cost price refreshments, children were treated to free face painting, a visit from Colin from Tikety- Boo and so many other activities, all provided by school staff.  Activities included Tug O' War, Parachute, Football, Tennis, obstacle and assault courses, netball, basketball and bean bag shoot!

Thankfully the weather was kind to us meaning everyone involved had a lovely time and again allowing Greswold to show how unique its community is!

    Fri 29 Sep 2023

The first classes to return all of their data collection forms were:

    Owls (Year 1 and 2)

    Nightingales (Year 3 and 4)

    Cedars (Year 5 and 6)

Well done to children and parents from our winning classes. It's not too late to return any remaining data collection forms.

  • New field markings to match Greswold pupils' lunchtime enthusiasm!

    Tue 26 Sep 2023

New field markings have helped to motivate the children's active enthusiasm already this year.  Three 5-a-side football pitches have helped to organise our lunchtime quadrant system as well as providing perfect facilities for Y5 and Y6 Wednesday and Friday lunchtime football clubs, run by the Football Development Scheme.

The Daily Mile course has also been reinstated around the outside of the KS2 field, something Greswold have adopted for several years and a way for children to increase their physical stamina and general health at times other than PE lessons.

However, watch this space because the start of next half term will signal the unveiling of another equipment location which will help to increase the physical wellbeing and motivation of the children even more!

  • International Day of Peace

    Thu 21 Sep 2023

Today, the school council joined three members of our local Rotary Club at our Peace Pole for a special assembly to mark International Day of Peace. The UN International Day of Peace started in 1981 and its purpose is to provide a globally shared date for all humanity to commit to peace above all differences and to contribute to building a culture of peace. The children reflected on the meaning of peace and how it involves understanding each other and working together to find solutions.

  • A Successful Start

    Mon 11 Sep 2023

In key stage assemblies this morning we celebrated the classes with the highest attendance for the first week back. Congratulations to Dragonflies who were our winners for EYFS and KS1 with 99.1%. Congratulations to our KS2 winners, Robins, who managed the perfect start to the year with 100%!

Who will be our winners next week?

  • Where's the trim trail gone? Watch this space.....

    Mon 11 Sep 2023

Pupils and parents alike may have noticed that the KS2 trim trail has disappeared over the summer.  Don't worry, it's soon to be replaced by something new, purposeful and perfect for children to use during lessons and at lunchtime.  Staff are very keen to use it too!

The children are desperate to know what it will be and have been very creative with their guesses, however the suspense will have to go on a little longer as the new installation won't take place until the October half term so........watch this space......
