    Wed 18 May 2022

This morning, the Living Street's (Travel Tracker) mascot Strider, joined our Walking Bus, along with several other extra families, to help promote Greswold's Active Travel campaign and Walk to School Week.  Everyone loved seeing Strider, giving him high-fives and hugs and having plenty of photographs taken with him.  Greswold would like to extend a special thank you to the families who joined us on our walk.

His visit marks the final week of Greswold's Active Travel campaign so please don't forget to log your child's travel using Travel Tracker as children with three badges will be put forward to the special draw next week for prizes including bicycles, scooters and Fit-Bits!

  • Greswold pupils showcasing their creativity yet again!

    Mon 09 May 2022

We're extremely proud to share some amazing pieces of artwork from a number of our year 5 and 6 pupils.  Miss Summers, Greswold's Art Subject Lead had invited the older children to participate in an national Open Art Competition and the creations below are the entries Greswold are sending.  I think you'll agree that they very much showcase the artistic talent and creativity of our pupils.

  • Our wonderful PTA are at it again!!

    Fri 06 May 2022

Yet again, the staff and pupils have had much to thank our wonderful PTA for.  Not only have they funded over £2000 worth of lunchtime equipment but school are also expecting a new football kit very soon paid for by them as well.  That's not all!  Additional Sportshall athletics equipment has been purchased by them and the PTA have also funded a substantial new book order for our school library.  The whole school community are very thankful for all the effort and energy the PTA demonstrate, all for the benefit of our Greswold pupils.  We are indeed very lucky!

  • Greswold's Active Travel campaign update: Week 4

    Mon 02 May 2022

We've reached the end of week 4 of our Active Travel campaign and more importantly we've reached the end of the second month, meaning it's time to be rewarded with a second badge.

According to the Travel Tracker report dated 2nd May, 177 pupils have now earned their second WOW badge.  However, if your child hasn't logged their active travel yet for the end of last week, don't worry, there's still time to earn that second badge.

So far, in total, 513 WOW badges have been won, a tremendous effort by the school community, with 93% of all logged journeys classed as active.  There's only three more weeks left.  If your family want to be in the running to win one of our exceptional prizes at the conclusion of the campaign then make sure you carry on travelling actively to school at least three times a week.  Those children who earn three WOW badges at the end of the campaign will have a chance of winning a bike, a scooter or a Fit-Bit!

Let's try to improve on the 43% level of engagement throughout the school.  Greswold is sure we can hit 60% by the end of the campaign!

  • Outstanding performance in County Finals

    Fri 29 Apr 2022

Congratulations to the 29 members of the Sportshall Athletics team who on Thursday competed in an incredibly tough County Finals event, representing South Solihull against 8 schools from other regions including North Solihull, Coventry East & West and Warwickshire (Central, North, South and East).

The pupils competed brilliantly, winning several races and events, culminating in a 2nd place finish, an impressive result indeed especially when taking into account how many schools comprise the Solihull, Warwickshire and Coventry regions (Over 300).

Their sportsmanship was impeccable and every child was an absolute credit to themselves, their families and the Greswold school community.

    Final results:

1st: Grange Farm Primary (Coventry West) 364 points

2nd: Greswold Primary (South Solihull) 326 pts

3rd: Telford Juniors (Central Warwickshire) 272 pts

4th: Park lane Primary (Northern Warwickshire) 232 pts

  • Art everywhere and anywhere........to brighten up our day!

    Fri 08 Apr 2022

Since the pupils have retuned to full time education, it has been Greswold's desire to help them recover personally, socially and academically through a curriculum of care, compassion and creativity.  What better way to demonstrate this than showing some impressive communal artwork which popped up on the playground today!  Thank you children, it really lit up everyone's day!
