Keep up to date with all the latest news happening in school at the moment.
In this morning's KS2 assembly, Mr Hornsey unveiled the 3 winning WOW badge art competition entries. The three winners' designs have already been sent off to Living Streets to hopefully be chosen as a winning design to be turned into an official WOW badge for 2025-26.
There were over 60 entries in total which were whittled down to 15 semi-finalists and then 6 finalists by Mr Hornsey and Miss Summers (Art & Design Subject Leader). The three winning entries were then carefully chosen by our team of Junior Travel Ambassadors.
Well done to Chekah, Emaan and Sophia for having their designs chosen to be entered into the national competition and thank you to all the pupils who entered, Your efforts were really appreciated and wonderfully designed.
Prizes were awarded in assembly for the winners of Primary Calligram Celebration 2025 in conjunction with the Association for Language Learning. Miss Smart, Greswold's MFL leader, had the very difficult task of selecting 3 entries per age group to receive a prize and have the chance of their calligram being included in a published book in the future.
Well done to Jad, Vaankia and Faryl in the 7-9 age category whose language was French.
Well done to Eliza, Dhira and Devaansh in the 9-11 age category whose language was Spanish.
Project Linus UK is part of a worldwide organisation of volunteers that make homemade quilts for children who are in need or distress. Local co-ordinator, Tina, recently provided two quilts for a family at Greswold. Once a quilt is given to a child it is theirs for keeps! Thank you to Tina and Project Linus.
As part of their learning on the Victorian times, all year 5 pupils and staff visited Blist Hills on Thursday.
Blist Hills Victorian Town is an open-air museum located in Telford and Wrekin, Shropshire. The museum recreates the sights, sounds and smells of a Victorian Shropshire town in the late 19th and early 20th centuries.
As you can see from the photos, the children truly experienced life in Victorian times for a child, including an actual school lesson!
A wonderfully immersive experience for all the children and something which we're sure will live long in their memories and help them with their future learning.
We are pleased to announce the launch of a new roll of honour to celebrate success in attendance.

Well done to all our Spring 1 superstars!
On Thursday, 30 Year 3 pupils had the exciting opportunity to attend the Tudor Grange Leisure Centre, where they took part in a Personal Best (PB) competition as part of a special ENGAGE-themed event.
The PB festival is designed to inspire young people by offering a non-competitive, supportive environment focused on enjoying physical activity and personal growth. The event aimed to celebrate effort and improvement, rather than just winning. Greswold pupils not only demonstrated our school values perfectly but also embodied the School Games values of determination, passion, and respect.
Each child approached the events with energy and excitement, supporting one another and striving to do their best. A special congratulations go to Sreehitha, Cash, and Sophia-Jayne, who were recognised as the overall winners in their groups for their outstanding positive attitudes, encouragement of others, and commitment throughout the day.
We would like to wish all our families celebrating a very blessed Ramadan.
It was a lovely surprise to find a hamper in the staff room filled with lovely treats to eat and we thank you for your Ramadan wishes.
Ramadan Mubarak!
We were thrilled to welcome the Animal Man to Nursery this week, thanks to the generous support of the PTA!
This special visit helped bring the children's learning to life, giving them the chance to see and learn about a variety of fascinating animals up close. The children were eager to ask questions, share their thoughts, and retell their experiences, using wonderful language skills. They were all fantastic, showing curiosity and excitement as we met lizards, snakes, skunks, and owls—just to name a few!
Recently, Greswold received a visit from a representative from Solihull local authority who reviewed our Early Years provision in Nursery, Greyhounds and Reception. The focus of the visit was looking at how the role of the adult supports the voice of the child.
We have now received the report which included the following findings:
Well done to the EYFS team for such a positive report, a true reflection of the hard work that has gone into meeting the ever evolving needs of our youngest children to Greswold.
We are pleased to have provided pre-loved uniform to 27 different families following parent consultation evenings.
