  • A thank you from the Mayor of Solihull

    Fri 06 Sep 2024

Greswold today received a very thoughtful thank you card from the Mayor of Solihull, Councillor Shahin Ashraf MBE.  We were very fortunate to host Councillor Ashraf at our year 6 leavers' assembly back in July where she gave a short speech afterwards, and it seems she very much enjoyed the pupils' performance.

  • A positive start to a new school year, helped by coffee and biscuits!

    Thu 05 Sep 2024

It's been a really positive start to the new academic year here at Greswold.  The children look very smart and the atmosphere around school has been lovely.

For parents of Reception children, the start of their school journey can be a very anxious one to begin with, for both pupils and parents, and is the reason why a special coffee morning was arranged this morning for parents to attend after drop-off.

This enabled parents to meet with other parents of Reception children as well as Greswold senior leaders.  The feedback from parents was very positive and Greswold will be looking into arranging further coffee mornings, for other year groups too, in the future.

  • Outdoor education is the name of the game for Greswold's final INSET Day of the year

    Sat 20 Jul 2024

  • Farewell

    Sat 20 Jul 2024

Today's final whole school assembly was particularly emotional for both pupils and staff.  Not only were we saying goodbye to year 6 pupils but a number of staff were saying farewell too.

Mrs Low and Mr Wilson are both retiring at the end of this academic year and the children sang personalised goodbye songs for them both.  Their combined teaching years at Greswold has surpassed 50 years and they will be sorely missed!

Miss Lansdown and Mrs Mills also said their goodbyes as they will be moving to new positions at the start of September and we wish them the very best in their promotions.

After another jam packed and successful year here at Greswold, we would like to extend our thanks to all our families for working in partnership with school and we wish you a very safe and enjoyable summer holiday.

  • A final word from our year 6 class of 2024

    Fri 19 Jul 2024

This afternoon, parents and families of year 6 pupils were joined by the Mayor of Solihull, Councillor Shahin Ashraf MBE, for the children's leavers' assembly.

An enjoyable yet emotional event culminated in year 5 pupils giving Y6 a guard of honour to signify their transition and the next step of their learning journeys.

A special well done also to the children who received our annual achievement awards which included Arnav, Brooke, Sian and Ezra. .

Well done to every single year 6 pupil for their hard work, dedication and commitment to everything they have done during their time here at Greswold.  The very best of luck at your new schools.

  • Greswold bids farewell!

    Fri 19 Jul 2024

In our final Star Pupil assembly of the year, the staff and pupils said their goodbyes to a number of staff leaving us this year.

Mrs Farrell, Mrs Aitken and Mr Groom were thanked for their time at Greswold. Mrs Mills and Miss Lansdown were presented with their gifts and were given a much deserved round of applause while Mrs Low and Mr Wilson were treated to a special song by everyone to wish them farewell.  We also said farewell to Mr Groom.

Mr Wilson, who has been at Greswold for 28 years, is taking early retirement while Mrs Low (24 years at Greswold) is moving onto new adventures with Birmingham Museum.  They both shared theirs thanks and memories with the school community before the school sang their song.

We wish everyone who has left us today a wonderful future in whatever they choose to do and we will miss them very much.
